Relocation of stray dogs is illegal as per the animal welfare rules in India. Stray dogs have to be sterilised (spayed/neutered) as per the Animal Birth Control (ABC) Rules 2023 and released back in the same area from where they were picked up.
CCC conducts FREE sterilisation of stray dogs in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal areas in Maharashtra. We follow an Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI) approved 5-day Animal Birth Control (ABC) program. Once sterilised, CCC will release the dogs back to the same location once he/she recovers from the sterilisation surgery. Anti-rabies vaccinations are given to all the stray dogs who undergo sterilisation procedure at CCC centres.
CCC will also provide certificates of surgery and vaccination of each dog. CCC will notch the ears of the dogs for identification as required by the Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI) – animal birth control guidelines.
To request for sterilisation of stray dogs in your area, please fill out the below details. Our team will get in touch with you to confirm the details and allocate a slot for pickup of the stray dogs for sterilisation. Once sterilised and healed, the dogs will be released back to their pickup location.
Please Note:
Please note CCC only sterilises stray dogs and it is FREE. Do not send pets or semi-owned stray dogs to us. Kindly take them to the nearest veterinary clinic for sterilisation.
CCC will contact you by phone when we are able to organise a sterilisation drive in your area. Because of high demand for these services, sterilisation appointments with CCC will take few weeks. Kindly bear with us for the delay. The appointments are given for 10-15 stray dogs.
For emergency sterilisation of a female stray dog in heat or female stray dogs who have completed a heat period, get in touch with your veterinarian or an animal welfare organisation. We do not provide emergency sterilisation services.
CCC does not have a helpline number, nor do we provide emergency rescue services.
